I was also expecting to hear the piano but your tender orchestration was all that was really needed.

    Phil
    Phil,

In future orchestrated projects I'll include
the piano original recordings as well.

    Thanks for listening.

Enjoy it I did. Who wrote this little gem?

    QUOTE=sunbird;823426]Hello,

This rare miniature piano piece caught my attention.

The more I played it the more I felt that a
strings orchestration would really enhance its charm.

So here it is for you to enjoy as well.

It is like Nordic romantic style, I get those home vibration from this. You told me once you are a fan of Grieg and I can hear the influence here. Also some vibs from LE Larsson's best works.
You should be proud of this. It was a pleasure to listen.
    Thank you Yudit

    Kjell,

It's good to hear that you enjoyed this piece
    and thanks for your compliments.
However, most of them should go for the composer Soloviev.
    I only interpreted him.

    Thanks for listening.

It's always a risk to translate piano chords (which are per definition percussive) into soft attacked string chords, but here it works so wonderfully. You've really captured the very essence of the piano version even so well, that no one could guess that this wasn't the original score.

    Bravo!

    Jos,

It is a pleasure to read your words.
You always have the right ones!

Yes, it is a challange to 'translate' a piano piece
to other instruments. I even had to split a voice
between two instruments because of the range.

Maybe Soloviev had such an arrangement in mind
because I felt it so strong as I played.

    Many thanks for listening!

    Tom,

    I'm glad you enjoyed this.

    The composer is Soloviev Nikolai.

    Thanks for listening.

What you did sounds quite fine.. I want to find a piano version to compare and (hopefully) learn from your work here.

Often I 'revoice' instruments in my compositions. Sometimes switching from a staccato instrument (piano, guitar) to a soft attack instrument is needed. and adjustments have to be made to make it work.. Still working my way thru that technique.

You did a fine job, and this version certainly stands on it's own

Mark, if you want the piano score, here it is:
