Mahler wrote about the Finale of the 3rd: It is all about Love.
This too is about that, I feel. No, that is the first time I enjoyed it, Thanks.

Very lovely. I thought the supporting strings at very beginning were a tad too soft. However I am being forced to use my old mac laptop with the 1 inch speaker (while my mac pro is being repaired), so this may not be a valid comment.

    Execellent performance.

    Really nice Raymond!

Yes, the supporting strings start quietly but I’m assuming that is ment to express the idea of the solo violin being some what alone.

    Dear Raymond,

Such a fantastic work for an extraordinary occasion. And we're already 11 years later now. A brand new composition is expected... But to do any better will be quite a task!

I'm glad I heard a rather 'tonal' Raymond in this earlier work, with great respect for the solo violin and the dialoguing role for the orchestra. For sure a true romance en every meaning.

Congrats for the marriage AND the work!
