This is quite good, Mister Tom. I can imagine humans singing lyrics to this. Fine job.

Thank you, larry. In this particular case the choir could not perform, so a quick fix was to have four high school students who were brass players stand in at three parts of the service. Unfortunately there was nothing in the church library within their range, so I did this piece for them. They did an excellent job.

    Hi Tom,

Really powerful and well set! I love the harmony and the structure. The sound of the brass is overwhelming and appealing. You did a fantastic job here. I'm glad it could be performed.

    Thanks for sharing,

    Thank you, Jos.

The kids were great. We met on Monday night so I could find out what their ranges were. Had one power house of a French Horn player - 14 yo girl. The two trumpet and trombone players had excellent tone, but a little limited in range. Wrote the piece along with a processional and prayer On Tuesday and Wednesday, we rehearsed them on Thursday and Friday and performed it on Sunday. *whew*

    Hello Tom,

You did a great job on this! It amazes me how one can can pull a musical rabbit out of a hat like that. Plenty of talent and knowledge about composing I’m sure.

    Re: Call to Worship

    Thank you, Phil.

Also never overlook the power of abject panic. Over four fifths of the choir out with the flu including the organist, 4 days to get it done, and an untried quartet of teens that had been playing only two years on their instruments and had an understandably limited upper range. It falls in the category of, "Just do it and see what happens."

I am grateful for its outcome.

    Tom
