    A New Life

I was inspired this week to write a new piece. I am now a first time Grandfather. My grandson was born this past Monday.

The piece is a Ballad in 12/8. It was started in Band-in-a-Box and developed in Finale then finished in Sonar X3 where I recorded myself playing the melody on Clarinet. The rest of the musicians are from Garritan JaBB and Personal Orchestra 5 except for the drums which are Addictive Drums 2.

I hope you enjoy listening to:

    Hi Rich,

It’s good to see and hear you posting on the forum!

I enjoyed your song. That was a nice intro with the strings and surprises with the chord changes. A perfect song to express your joy with your new grandson.

Yes, congratulations and I also see the resemblance. You have a new buddy.

What a happy tune, I really feel your happiness and inspiration in your music. It is a tune only a lucky man could compose.

    Greetings,

    Hi Rich,
Nice to see you back here to announce some awesome news. Many congratulations. And you know what they say about granfathership: no pressure, nothing musts and plenty of time to enjoy! This little one has already been spoiled from the very beginning, that's for sure. A piece of advice: put some soothing words on the tune, so that you can sing to the baby in times of distress and little fears. May be handy at times... But now you should enjoy every single second. Your lovely melody was the perfect start!

Thank you for commenting. I look forward to when I can hold him in my arms. My son and his wife live 1000 miles away and I won't be able to fly out there until the end of the month. :-(
