Fantasy Op.6 No. 1 for piano

    Hello friends,

this work had various versions (at home). Sometimes I liked a certain part, but a "pre-listener" pointed me to some flaws (too much ostinato). Some day this week I "saw" the light and started all over again. Not what I had in mind originally, but better. Just find out yourself [it is the fifth take as you can see].

    Notation and playback: Overture 5
Piano: PianoTeq Blüthner Model One Chamber BA - customized
Reverb: Altiverb, San Miguel in Cuenca - Spain.

    Hi Raymond,

To start with, I praise your customised Blüthner piano. You've turned it into a very nice sounding classical instrument, perfectly fit for the job! To achieve such a sound, you must be a good pianist and a critical one.

This movement shows not only well inspired playing, but also top notch piano literature, performed in a very varied way with well dosed rubato and dynamic contrasts. The piece is set in an excellent ambience to let it live and shine, with such a clarity that not a single detail could escape from hearing.

    A big round of applause!

I listened to your piano work twice [BRaymond[/B].

It’s quite rich and sophisticated modern classical! I won’t pretend to fully understand it’s structure or what is behind it but it seems to work well.

Thank you, Phil. Don't search for any meaning behind it, there isn't any. Just having fun with the notes and the melody.

    Greetings from a white Holland,

Very well played.. I liked that you had several versions.. Then came up with this one.. I use that technique too. Try out different approaches, and then meld them into the finished version, using various incarnations..

This allows you to explore the 'sonic territory and possibilities' of the piece.

    woah..... just got a rush at 3:30 - 3:40..

Listening a 2nd time.. This is Brilliant playing.. I loved how smoothly you moved thru different techniques, and styles (sorry don't know all the terminology)

    WELL DONE
