Truly a "kaleidoscope" of brilliant pictures, great sound and playing.
Congratulation, looking forward to the rest.....

    Hi Raymond,

You must have been (and still are) a brilliant piano player to have such a deep insight in the sonic and technical possibilities of the present day pianoforte (and here in the use of piano samples as well).
This piece not only illustrates your pianistic skill, but also your compositional qualities.
It is a very varied and rich composition full of inventiveness, harmonic novelties and high level performance challenges.

    Impatiently waiting for the rest...

PianoTeq is NOT a sample library with all sorts of keyswitches and so on. It is a software modelled piano, acting as an ordinary piano. The only thing it reacts to are midi commands for all sorts of pedalling and of course velocity for pianissimo, etc.... Of course, you can alter the sound, pretending being a pianotuner, but that's it.

Pretty amazing piano work and recording. I think you pretty much managed to touch all the sonic bases and emotions with this piece.

I was trying to imagine all the finger work in this. Ouch! Pianoteq has always had the advantage for playability and here you've made it sound right up there with the sampled pianos.

A great tune which I enjoyed listen to, rich in contrast and variation with a beautiful sound picture.
    Thank you very much.

    Re: Kaleidoscope for solo piano

This is the best composition for piano I've heard in times.

The sound of this pseudo-Blüthner is simply gorgeous (actual Blüthners also are).

Please, Raymond, refine the midi editing of those repeated short notes, they deserve the same level of attention and quality of the whole; the machine gun effect is around the corner.

    Re: Kaleidoscope for solo piano

Fabiolcati, I did and it sounds better.
During the absence of this forum, I managed to compose two other pieces.
    Which are:

    1. Kaleidoscope (better recording), link: https://app.box.com/s/ewpbm9410ifsgb7iyimz4a500zbtmlmd

    2. Free as a bird on a wing, link: https://app.box.com/s/6wt7flzjzenwxfe86rdo8f3sq2rs0s21
    [Inspired by Ravel's Miroirs (Noctuelles)]

    3. Cathedral, link: WITHDRAWN - see reason for edit

I am thinking of adding some more phrases at the end of this (3rd)piece, but it is not for sure. I really think it is finished, but somewhere in my mind it itches (you know the feeling). It has a wink to C.M.Widor.
