    "Whole Lotta Horns"

    Fellow Music Folks,

This is my all-"French" horn work, "Whole Lotta Horns". Each horn is on a separate track. All instruments are from the East/West Gold sample library.

I first posted this work over seven years ago here on the forum.

    Take care.

I really like this. Was this written in Finale? If so, how did you get the HP acoustics, dynamics, expression to work with the EW library?

Exciting as usual, Larry, with a new and unique constellation where some really nice themes come to their full right. Really enjoyable.
    Thanks

I have never used Finale. Sonar is my sequencer. I just used the standard controls which are compatible with East/West.

    Thanks for your message.

Thank you Larry. Maybe I should look at Sonar. Still can't get EW libraries to work well in Finale. They load okay, but they are just either on or off.

    Larry,

Thanks for reposting this wonderful all horn piece.

I use to play the horn so long ago. The horn has it's own regal character.

I remember that you told me that you were an ex-horn man.

I hope that you are well, Mister Phil. Thanks for your welcome message.

    Hi Larry,

Aren't the horns fantastic instruments? To my ears they are the majestic kings of brass with a very large playing range and so many tonal variation (sweet and soft to cruel and harsh...).
The ensemble you've built here sounds indeed very nice and the theme is very well written for the horns.

    A new masterpiece!

Yes, the "French" horn is truly a magnificent instrument. It is pleasing to me to compose for it.

Thank you, my Belgium friend, for your nice message.

    Best,

    Larry Alexander
