Beethoven Piano Sonata op. 110 - for orchestra

Recently I worked again on my orchestration of Beethoven's wonderful piano sonata op. 110 which I originally orchestrated 3 years ago:

I is still such a joy to listen to that work again. I am not sure whether I had posted it here back in 2013 ...

    Hi Gerd,

Very nice approach. You've really captured the true spirit of the wonderful composition. Music designed for piano has a very particular technique and properties which are not so easy to evoke with instrumentation (think of the typical 'attack' of the piano to name just one), but you've managed to bring it to life in your orchestration. Good sound and transparency as well.

I've listened to both the movements.

    Congrats!

Really lovely with a new interesting perspective of the sonata. I am sure Ludwig himself would have loved it.

And now the last movement as the climax of the Sonata - a painful "Arioso dolente" and heavenly Fugue. One of the few highlights of piano literature! Some people say it is Beethoven's Requiem for is "immortal beloved" who had died in the year of the compostion.
I think this movement cries for an orchestral rendition. This orchestration means so much to me. It is like a sanctuary for me. If you can - please listen to it with headphones!

    Very nice, Gerd.
It almost starts like the Mozart Requiem. Dark, obscure, sad...
    Wonderful Fuga in two directions.

    Bravo, well done!
