Hi,

I was wondering if someone could help me out with this.
I\'m trying to figure out how does the ancient(meaning pre-Spanish colonization) tribal music of the Caribbean sounds?

I\'m familiar with the sounds from the native people of Hawaii, Tahiti, Fiji (big drums, sea shells, stick drums, stone clicks, fast rhytms)..Would it be safe to guess that Caribbean native music is in a way similar?

Anybody\'s help on this subject is greatly apreciated..

Or now that I looka at the map, would it be more like South American tribal music?

Don\'t know if this will help, but here\'s a link for a book on ancient South American music:

I would think you would be right with bone rattles, drums, and probably some pan flutes.

good luck!
