Live Nation's Ticketmaster has acquired mobile-based DIY ticketing platform, Eventjoy for an undisclosed sum. The move will help the ticketing giant compete with Eventbrite in the growing non-traditional venue and event market. In addition to DIY ticketing, Eventjoy offers social marketing, analytics, and customer engagement tools including embedded direct messaging and real time notifications. Attendees are also provided with everything from venue maps to event schedules and messaging.
