Giliw Ko (GPO Version)

I just made a GPO version of the piece of the same title that I recently posted here and I must say I have been very happy with the result.

GPO may not be the most extensive library out there but it can do way much more than just \'sketch\' as some have claimed. The sounds themselves are beautifully crafted even at such small sizes (small in comparison to normal sound libraries today). This clever utilization of resources makes it so user-friendly to both the player and the machine. Very smart programming indeed!

Added to that wonderful library is Gary Garritan\'s support and guidance which I have never experienced from any seller before. I am not as \'big-time\' as most of the composers in this forum and I was just lucky enough to win my own copy of GOS Full Strings by posting the 10,000th message in the Garritan Forum and yet Gary treated me with much respect and concern, even calling me up personally to ask how his library is doing and letting me know which impulses are best to use with what music. Now I have GPO and even for the customer service alone I\'d buy anything Garritan!

Here\'s the link to \"Giliw Ko GPO Version\":

I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it!

Very nice! Very full sounding. You sure you didn\'t use any GOS for this? Really impressive.

    Brady,

Nope. The whole piece is just GPO. I think I can even put more expression if I had a mod wheel. I\'m just using the controller slider from my XP-30 and it\'s kinda rough to control. Manually drawing controller messages is pain on the other hand.

I also have GOS Full now and I just did an experiment tonight:

Well, I think nobody\'s listening but I\'m still hoping to get some response though. I work and learn alone when it comes to computer music so it\'s sometimes hard to get the right sound when there\'s nobody else around to say, \"Oops, easy on the reverb!\"

Anyway, thanks for the nice feedback!

    This is beautiful music.

BTW, I visited one of the linked pages on your site (http://www.slmtp.org/SoS%20Homepage.html). When you go to that site, a music piece automatically plays. Did you compose/record that? The orchestral samples sound a lot like the one in the Kurzweil K2000.

    Thank you!

\"Song of Songs\" by slmtp.org is composed by a Tampa-based composer, Stephan Scott Lay. My friend happens to be the lead in that musical so I\'m just helping to promote the show. I\'ve only heard some of the music so I really don\'t know what gear the composer used. I\'ll see when the show opens next week.
