Is there anything special about piano sounds in latin music. I mean, besides there being a style all to itself, is there anything that makes a particular piano sound like it's for latin music? Am I making sense? Is there a better type of sample than others for this type of sound? I'm getting ready to learn some covers for my band and am using my Fantom Xa. Just wondering if there might be something in the programming that could make a piano have a more latin flavor. Thanks.

Hi Eric.
There si no special piano sound IMO, when I compose something "latin" I use a bright piano sound only. The most important is knowing the style, for example a "tumbado" always sounds to latin music. It is a great style that always works :) Is playing the same rythmic melody with two hands in different octaves. If you want I can show you an example.

Hi Eric. This is a little example I have made of a tumbao. It can be played in a happier melody as well. The example is only piano, bass and percussion.
I hope this helps you :)
If you want I can send you the midi file.
